We have frozen this blog as a historical, yet informational view at what life is like in the West Indies Mission for all those called to serve. This blog was designed for the families and friends of those missionaries serving in the West Indies Mission from July 2006 to July 2009. Every six weeks, photos taken at zone conference as well as a new slide show including every person baptized were posted on the blog. All of the slide shows are also available on our You Tube channel. The current West Indies Mission blog can be found here. Posts on our missionary experience can be found here and earlier. And finally, if you are a returned missionary who served in the West Indies, there is a current blog for you. Click here or visit westindiesrm@blogspot.com

More Glimpses of WIRMs

You'll all remember that Landon Hansen comes from a large family. This is the Sunday after he came home.

Here Andrew Croft is captured in a photo with Allyson.

Ross Webb always had an eye for capturing the moment on film. Here is are photos of he and Briony from a recent trip to France.

Big News in Suriname

We are in Suriname this weekend for our regular zone conference trip. The elders and members are terrific. They are abuzz right now with the news of Elder Boom, who after serving in Suriname for two years, went home to Holland last transfer on a Thursday. The following Tuesday, Elder Boom flew to Utah and on Wednesday was engaged to Millie. Her father was a missionary companion to Elder Boom's father, so they had met prior to Elder Boom's mission. They are very much in love and will be married on September 13th.

As for other exciting news in Suriname -- today, the 991st member of the Church was confirmed. Next week, Suriname will reach a total of 1000 members. Brother Yves Verwey submitted his missionary papers this weekend and will join Larry Roseval in the exciting wait for the call to serve. In addition, Guillermo Wehl, Ralph Wehl, Bishessar Ritchi, Brian Nerbond and Safierera Zeegelaar are all preparing to submit their missionary papers. What a terrific group.
