We have frozen this blog as a historical, yet informational view at what life is like in the West Indies Mission for all those called to serve. This blog was designed for the families and friends of those missionaries serving in the West Indies Mission from July 2006 to July 2009. Every six weeks, photos taken at zone conference as well as a new slide show including every person baptized were posted on the blog. All of the slide shows are also available on our You Tube channel. The current West Indies Mission blog can be found here. Posts on our missionary experience can be found here and earlier. And finally, if you are a returned missionary who served in the West Indies, there is a current blog for you. Click here or visit westindiesrm@blogspot.com

Canje and Berbice, Guyana Zone Conference - Wednesday March 18

The missionaries in Canje and Berbice were impressive yesterday

Just look at them - many in their long-sleeved white shirts (despite the heat and no AC)

Berbice Zone

Canje Zone

It is always so wonderful walking into a room full of elders - clean, dedicated, and eager to learn. They are such gentlemen. They stand up and great us, pick up and carry my briefcase, see that ladies eat first...

They will make great husbands and fathers someday

Just look at them! Aren't they amazing young men?

Elders Lundberg, Sorber, Parrish and Warhurst

Elders Welch, Packer, Coronado, and Roger Ramnerein (sp?) - a wonderful new member who is serving a mini mission while he gets his missionary application ready to go

Elders Temarono, Wright, Swart, and Duncan

Elders Lee, Sturdevant, and Ritchie

Elders Lang, Stebbing, and Scott

And here's a few special groups

Serving from the West Indies and in the West Indies!

Brother Ramnerein (mini missionary from Guyana), Elder Clarke (from Jamaica - finishing his mission in 2 weeks!), and Elder Jailall and Jordan (from Guyana)

Dutch speaking elders

Elders Sorber and Swart

French speaking elders (some displaced because of strikes in Guadeloupe and Martinique)

Elders Temerono, Wright, and Roberts

And the four fine assistants - two serving in a temporary assignment as traveling assistants in Guyana

Elders Dayton and Mundy (traveling), McDaniel and Hamilton

And a VERY special group - three missionaries under call! Don't they look happy?

Sister BiBi (Santo Domingo West), Danesh (Puerto Rico West), and Siter Roopa (Santo Domingo West)

It was a fine zone conference

Elders McDaniel and Mundy reviewing the Preach my Gospel steps of commiting

With an excellent musical number

led by talented Elder Ritchie

The couples (Bullocks, Larsens, and Treseders) made a delicious lunch, as usual

Elder Sorber

Elder Lang (officially the pickiest eater in the mission - note his baked potato only lunch) and Elder Stebbing

And finally, here is the newest couple in Guyana - the Treseders from Mesa, Arizona (on the left)
