We have frozen this blog as a historical, yet informational view at what life is like in the West Indies Mission for all those called to serve. This blog was designed for the families and friends of those missionaries serving in the West Indies Mission from July 2006 to July 2009. Every six weeks, photos taken at zone conference as well as a new slide show including every person baptized were posted on the blog. All of the slide shows are also available on our You Tube channel. The current West Indies Mission blog can be found here. Posts on our missionary experience can be found here and earlier. And finally, if you are a returned missionary who served in the West Indies, there is a current blog for you. Click here or visit westindiesrm@blogspot.com

Power of Pictures
Here is an interesting story
President Robison was contacted a few weeks ago by a senior missionary. He was preparing a presentation for some ambassadors to the United Nations regarding the Church in their countries and wanted some pictures. We began a correspondence and I eventually suggested he read the mission blog so that he could pick any photos he wanted. Friday he sent an email describing the interesting results:
Dear President and Sister Robison,
Your missionaries studying the scriptures and grouped in districts were highlights of our presentation on Wednesday.... [one of the ambassadors] was thoroughly engrossed. Touched by all she saw she said, in the discussion afterward, that it is sometimes hard for an ambassador to maintain his/her principles at the UN as she negotiates resolutions and other agreements.
It amazes me how a simple picture of missionaries doing what they are called to do can bring the Spirit into someone's life - prompting them to align themselves more fully with the Lord's commandments.
And now behold, I ask of you, my brethren of the church, have ye spiritually been born of God? Have ye received his image in your countenances? Have ye experienced this mighty change in your hearts? (Alma 5:14)
