We have frozen this blog as a historical, yet informational view at what life is like in the West Indies Mission for all those called to serve. This blog was designed for the families and friends of those missionaries serving in the West Indies Mission from July 2006 to July 2009. Every six weeks, photos taken at zone conference as well as a new slide show including every person baptized were posted on the blog. All of the slide shows are also available on our You Tube channel. The current West Indies Mission blog can be found here. Posts on our missionary experience can be found here and earlier. And finally, if you are a returned missionary who served in the West Indies, there is a current blog for you. Click here or visit westindiesrm@blogspot.com

Breathtaking Trinidad

We took a preparation day hike this morning to Maracas waterfall in Trinidad with Elder Williamson and McDaniel. We had been to the main waterfall before for a zone leader council. Here is a picture taken last February

Today we took a detour to a smaller waterfall - actually a series of small waterfalls and pools.

It was incredibly beautiful - take a look

House along the trail - wouldn't you love to live here?

Pink path to the waterfall - scattered with hot pink blossoms from a tree above

Mountain spring water
williamson water

Looks like the sacred grove

A little rock throwing and vine swinging

This butterfly joined us during our hike back to the car

Same butterfly with it's wings open!

I kept thinking how much I miss when I spend most of my life inside buildings, insulated from these incredible creations of God.

"And I, God, saw everything that I had made, and behold, all things which I had made were very good..."
(Moses 2:31)
